KickOff exists to help people play more football. Whether you're organising a game, joining one nearby, or chatting with your group, we want KickOff to feel welcoming, fair and safe for everyone. This Code of Conduct sets out what we expect from every member of the community, and what we will do when someone falls short of it.
Treat other players the way you'd want to be treated on the pitch. Be respectful in your messages, your username and your behaviour at matches. Banter is part of football, but abuse, threats, harassment, discrimination and hate speech of any kind are never acceptable.
Use your real identity and don't impersonate other people, public figures or brands — including through your username. Don't manipulate player ratings, match scores or any other data. Turn up when you say you will, and settle payments fairly.
Organisers and players rely on each other. If you can no longer make a match, let people know as early as possible so your spot can be filled. Organisers should run games as advertised and handle payments and refunds fairly through the App's Credits system.
KickOff is open to players aged 16 and over, so adults and young people may end up in the same game. Everyone shares responsibility for making that safe.
You will not usually be told a player's age. If you are unsure, behave as though they may be under 18.
Play within your ability, respect the venue and its rules, and look out for others. KickOff facilitates matches but is not responsible for what happens on the pitch — participate at your own risk, make sure you are fit to play, and consider appropriate insurance.
Don't share other players' personal information, photos or messages outside the App without their consent. Health and fitness data is personal — it belongs to the individual player.
You can report any player from their profile in the App, or email report@kickoffsocialapp.co.uk. You can also block another user so they can no longer message you.
Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may:
Where a report concerns the safety of a young person, we will normally suspend the account first and look into it afterwards. We would rather inconvenience an adult than leave a child at risk.
We keep a record of reports and of what we did about them, so that repeated behaviour is visible even when each individual incident seems minor.
If we take action on your account we will tell you what we have done and why. If you believe the decision is wrong, reply to that email or write to hello@kickoffsocialapp.co.uk and a person will look at it again.
